Erdogan and Trump Meet at NATO Summit, Discuss Key Issues

On Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with US President Donald Trump during the NATO Summit held in The Hague. The two leaders spoke about many important topics, including global and regional challenges, as well as the relationship between Türkiye and the United States.

President Erdogan welcomed the recent ceasefire between Israel and Iran. He appreciated the role played by President Trump in helping bring about this peace. Erdogan also asked for a lasting solution in Gaza and encouraged open dialogue to help resolve the situation in Ukraine.

During the meeting, President Erdogan talked about how Türkiye and the US can work together in areas like energy, trade, and defence. He pointed out that if both countries improve their cooperation, they could reach a trade goal of 100 billion US dollars.

Both leaders also agreed on the importance of NATO. They said that as strong allies, Türkiye and the US should continue to support NATO and help make it even stronger.

The meeting showed that both countries are ready to build a closer and more powerful partnership for the future.
