In Muscat, the Ministry of Social Development commemorated World Autism Awareness Day 2026 through an impactful programme aimed at fostering inclusion and empowerment. This event took place under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Abdullah bin Hamoud Al Harthi, Undersecretary for Persons with Disabilities’ Affairs.
Under the theme “Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value,” the celebration featured a range of workshops and interactive sessions. These were designed to engage children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, celebrate their abilities, and encourage active participation in community life.
Professionals delivered insightful briefings on autism, providing valuable guidance to parents and caregivers on effective support strategies for their children. The initiative also sought to enhance public awareness and encourage positive interactions with individuals on the autism spectrum.
The event attracted participation from families, students, and individuals associated with specialized centres, underscoring the importance of community engagement and inclusive practices for the betterment of people with autism in Oman.
