The Zayed Authority for People of Determination has introduced a national strategy aimed at bolstering children’s mental wellness throughout the UAE. This initiative falls under the Ulfah Program, spearheaded by the National Academy for Childhood Development in collaboration with SAKINA, a mental health network operating under SEHA and PureHealth.
By uniting crucial organizations, this collaborative effort aims to create a robust framework for psychological support for children. It underlines the UAE’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life and nurturing a healthier, more resilient community.
Emphasis on Early Mental Health Care
The primary focus of this initiative is on children aged 0 to 6 years, a vital period for emotional and psychological growth. A variety of programs have been developed to assist children, parents, educators, and the broader community.
These programs consist of:
Interactive workshops and training sessions
Sensory play and early development initiatives
Art and music therapy sessions
Activities aimed at emotional and social skill development
Mindfulness and emotional regulation workshops
