Post by : Bianca Suleiman

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), presided over a council meeting on Tuesday at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, also Vice Chairman of the SEC.

Wheat Harvest & the Launch of “Mazraaty” Platform

The Council extended their congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the successful fourth season wheat harvest. Additionally, they applauded the introduction of the “Mazraaty” platform, designed to aid farmers and livestock breeders.

This initiative is focused on enhancing the quality of organic food products, bolstering the national food security framework, and promoting sustainability over the long term.

Government Performance Evaluations and Development Initiatives

During the session, the Council assessed the performance of government entities and explored development strategies across multiple sectors aimed at enhancing citizens’ quality of life.

These strategies are intended to cater to community needs while increasing government service efficiency throughout the emirate.

Endorsement of the Sharjah Archaeology Authority Structure

The Council sanctioned the organizational design and job profiles of the Sharjah Archaeology Authority (SAA). This decision reflects a directive to bolster institutional efficacy and enhance government performance.

This initiative will cultivate expertise within the archaeology sector and support the preservation of cultural heritage, thereby reinforcing Sharjah’s status as a premier cultural epicenter on both regional and international stages.

Reforms in the Judicial Sector

The Council sanctioned new fees related to expert services within judicial bodies, a move aimed at regulating professional engagements, elevating service standards, and enhancing transparency within legal frameworks.

Housing Initiatives and Family Welfare

Discussions included an examination of a report on residential developments and their significance in supporting families. These initiatives are designed to accelerate housing delivery, minimize construction expenses, and ensure superior quality through standardized designs and monitoring.

These complexes will also offer comprehensive infrastructure and services, significantly improving living conditions while minimizing delays in housing development.

Housing Data and Prospective Plans

The report disclosed that there are 2,488 government housing units currently in the works across Sharjah. Among these, 1,154 units have been completed and handed over, while construction is ongoing for another 1,334.

The report further detailed the distribution of housing initiatives, prominent challenges, and forthcoming suggestions, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the housing framework and align with citizen expectations.
