Dozens Killed in RSF Drone Attack as Sudan’s War Shows No Mercy

Post by : Saif Nasser

A deadly drone attack in Sudan’s South Kordofan region has killed dozens of people, once again showing how brutal and unsafe the country’s long-running war has become. The attack took place in the town of Dilling and has been blamed on the Rapid Support Forces, a powerful paramilitary group fighting Sudan’s national army.

Reports from the area say that the drone strike hit busy parts of the town, including places where ordinary people live and work. Many victims were civilians who had nothing to do with the fighting. The attack caused panic, fear, and deep sadness among families who are already struggling to survive in a war zone.

Sudan has been trapped in conflict since April 2023, when fighting broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces. What started as a power struggle quickly turned into a nationwide war. Cities, towns, and villages across Sudan have been damaged, and millions of people have been forced to flee their homes.

South Kordofan is one of the regions suffering the most. It has seen repeated battles, sieges, and air attacks. Even when one side claims control, civilians remain unsafe. The recent drone strike shows that modern weapons are making the war even more dangerous, as attacks can happen suddenly and without warning.

The humanitarian situation in the area is extremely serious. Hospitals lack medicine, food supplies are low, and clean water is hard to find. Many health centers have been damaged or shut down due to fighting. Doctors and aid workers say they are overwhelmed and unable to help everyone in need.

Drone attacks have become more common in Sudan’s war. These weapons are often used far from direct battle lines, but they still cause heavy civilian deaths. Markets, homes, and public spaces have been hit in the past, leaving families broken and communities destroyed.

The international community has strongly criticized attacks that harm civilians. Human rights groups have warned that such actions may break international law. They continue to call for an immediate ceasefire and safe routes for humanitarian aid. However, peace efforts have so far failed to stop the violence.

Millions of Sudanese are now living as displaced people, either inside the country or in neighboring nations. Hunger, disease, and fear have become part of daily life. Children are missing school, families are separated, and entire communities are losing hope.

The drone attack in South Kordofan is not just another war incident. It is a painful reminder that civilians are paying the highest price in Sudan’s conflict. Until fighting stops and real peace talks begin, innocent lives will continue to be lost, and the suffering of the Sudanese people will only grow deeper.
