Cristiano Ronaldo made an impressive return from injury, netting two goals as Al Nassr triumphed with a commanding 5-2 scoreline against Al Najma in the Saudi Pro League.
Having been sidelined for nearly a month, the Portuguese superstar marked his comeback in spectacular fashion. His absence had notably impacted both his club and the Portugal national team, missing crucial matches including friendlies against Mexico and the United States.
Although Al Nassr was favoured to win, Al Najma shocked fans by taking an initial lead just before halftime through Rakan Al Tulayhi. However, Al Nassr responded instantly in stoppage time with goals from Abdullah Al Hamdan and Sadio Mane, flipping the match's momentum just before the break.
Al Najma equalized early in the second half with a goal from Felippe Cardoso, but the tide quickly shifted. In the 56th minute, Ronaldo converted a penalty to regain the lead and later scored his second in the 73rd minute, demonstrating his classic finishing skills. Mane capped off the victory with a goal in stoppage time.
This victory marked Al Nassr's 13th consecutive win in the league, enhancing their dominance at the top with 70 points, comfortably ahead of rivals Al Hilal, who trail by six points and face Al Taawoun next.
Ronaldo's swift impact upon his return serves as a significant boost for Al Nassr in their pursuit of the league title, showcasing his enduring influence even at 41.
