Miss Universe Clarifies Miss Jamaica Is Not to Blame After Stage Accident

Post by : Saif Nasser

The Miss Universe Organisation has shared an important update about the health of Miss Jamaica Universe 2025, Dr Gabrielle Henry, following her serious accident on the Miss Universe stage. The organisation also strongly denied claims that it blamed her for the incident.

Dr Gabrielle Henry suffered a frightening fall during the preliminary round of the Miss Universe 2025 competition on November 19, 2025. She reportedly fell through an opening in the stage while performing her walk. The accident caused serious injuries, including an intracranial haemorrhage, loss of consciousness, facial cuts, a fracture, and other medical complications.

After the incident, controversy grew when Miss Haiti, Melissa Sapini, claimed that the Miss Universe Organisation had blamed Miss Jamaica for the fall. These accusations created tension and sparked discussions online.

On December 8, the Miss Universe Organisation, along with Miss Jamaica family, released a joint statement to clear the confusion. The statement said that Dr Henry is steadily recovering and continues to receive specialised medical care. It also confirmed that she will soon return to Jamaica under full medical supervision and will be transferred directly to a hospital for further treatment.

The organisation made it clear that Dr Henry was not responsible for the accident. It stated that media reports suggesting she was at fault were false and misleading. According to the organisation, they never blamed her and fully support her.

The Miss Universe Organisation also explained that it has covered all of Dr Henry medical and living expenses in Thailand. In addition, it paid for the accommodation and living costs of her mother and sister so they could be near her during her recovery.

In a separate message shared by the official Miss Universe Jamaica page, Dr Henry said that she is eagerly looking forward to returning home and meeting everyone soon. Her message gave hope and comfort to her supporters.

This incident has added to a series of controversies surrounding this year Miss Universe pageant. While beauty pageants are often associated with glamour and celebration, this event has reminded the world of the importance of safety, care, and respect for the contestants.

The situation highlights the responsibility of large organisations to protect participants and to communicate clearly during crises. The Miss Universe Organisation attempt to clarify the situation is a step toward rebuilding trust and reducing misinformation.

At its heart, this story is not about blame, but about human care. Dr Gabrielle Henry is not just a title holder, but a person who experienced a serious injury. Her safety and recovery must remain the top priority.

As she continues to heal, the public now looks toward a future where beauty competitions focus not only on performance, but also on the health, dignity, and well-being of every contestant.
