The Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance (ADAEP) has officially unveiled its grand jury members for this award cycle, reinforcing the initiative's standing as a hallmark of governmental excellence. This panel assembles notable leaders from both Abu Dhabi and the global arena, hailing from varied sectors.
This award is integrated into a broader governmental initiative aimed at elevating institutional effectiveness and fostering inter-agency cooperation. It adheres to the Abu Dhabi Government Performance and Excellence Model, a framework centered on human values and results, geared towards delivering sustainable public value, enhancing life quality, and establishing a forward-looking governance framework.
A meticulous evaluation process supports the award; over 90 local and international experts will appraise 37 government entities and 103 initiatives spanning several categories. For the first time, AI-enhanced analytics will be utilized, promoting consistency, insights, and informed decision-making. The grand jury will ultimately select the final winners.
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC's Managing Director and Group CEO, chairs the jury. Additional members include Saif Saeed Ghobash, Ala’a Eraiqat, Mariana Mazzucato, and Andreas Jacobs.
This eclectic jury merges expertise in governance, innovation, academia, and business, offering a comprehensive global perspective on performance, public value, and institutional evolution.
Dr. Al Jaber highlighted that excellence is fundamental to Abu Dhabi’s strategy, emphasizing that the award aligns with the emirate’s goal of establishing itself as the world’s first fully AI-native government by 2027. He underscored the significant role of technology in advancing services, augmenting decision-making, and delivering impactful public outcomes.
Saif Saeed Ghobash remarked that the jury embodies a harmonious blend of leadership experience and international benchmarking proficiency, ensuring that the winners exemplify innovation, adaptability, and meaningful results that elevate life quality.
Mariana Mazzucato commended Abu Dhabi’s model, characterizing it as a global benchmark for prioritizing public value. She noted the award’s emphasis on inclusivity, sustainability, and lasting societal impact that exceeds conventional performance measures.
The champions of the 2026 award cycle are set to be revealed in April 2026, establishing new benchmarks for excellence in government performance and innovation.
