This event was a vibrant showcase of classical music's legacy, intertwined with modern expressions and youthful flair.
The evening commenced with a stirring rendition by Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, Leyli Okdirova. She performed pieces by Nury Halmamedov titled “Unheard Songs of the Children of Hiroshima and Nagasaki,” her exquisite coloratura soprano voice perfectly capturing the poignant emotions within the verses, leaving the audience deeply moved.
Elegant sonatas by renowned composers Robert Schumann and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart further enriched the program, brought to life by talented violinists Alan Kasymov, Selime Shaberdieva, and Latifa Rahimova. Their expressive performances blended technical skill with artistic sensitivity, elevating the concert's refined ambiance.
The evening was further enhanced by a powerful performance from People’s Artist of Turkmenistan, Gulnar Nuriyeva, who delivered compelling arias from operas by Modest Mussorgsky, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Giacomo Puccini, and Johannes Brahms. Her dramatic soprano voice conveyed significant emotional impact, resonating with the audience and garnering enthusiastic applause.
A standout moment featured young pianist Tylla Shirova, who showcased impressive skill and composure. Her performance included “The Voice of the Dutar” by Nury Halmamedov, along with Beethoven’s 8th Sonata and a Nocturne by Frederic Chopin. Her expressive interpretation highlighted the promising future for young musicians in the region.
Additionally, the concert presented the remarkable abilities of concertmasters guided by senior teacher Stella Faramazova, whose mentorship has elevated the musical education standards at the conservatory. Their support enriched each performance, ensuring a cohesive musical experience.
This chamber concert not only honored the legacy of classical music but also underscored the synergy between seasoned artists and emerging talent within Turkmenistan's music scene.
