Elevating Community Spirit: Discover Al Shuwaib Drives Tourism in UAE

The “Discover Al Shuwaib” event, hosted in Al Ain from April 17 to 19, witnessed enthusiastic local participation. Coordinated by the Emirates Council for Balanced Development and Emirates Foundation, this initiative aims to engage communities through unique local experiences.

Focused on harnessing natural resources, it encourages healthy lifestyles and deeper connections with the environment, particularly in rural settings.

Aligning with UAE leadership's vision, the program seeks to foster community initiatives that underscore each region's identity. It also enhances public engagement, supports sustainable practices, and fortifies ties to the nation's heritage.

The event hosted a multitude of activities suitable for all ages. Highlights included navigation adventures, mountain biking trails, artistic workshops for children, and environmental volunteer efforts. A significant tree-planting campaign raised sustainability awareness.

Under the “Proud of the UAE” initiative, various activities aimed to instill pride and encourage community participation.

This event contributed to positioning Al Shuwaib as an emerging community tourism hub, spotlighting its remarkable natural and cultural landmarks, such as the Al Shuwaib Dam and its scenic landscapes.

Part of a larger strategy, this initiative by the council seeks to unveil the environmental and tourism potential of villages, thereby enhancing public engagement across the UAE.
