QRCS Provides Urgent Assistance to 20,700 Individuals in Beirut Amidst Conflict

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has initiated a crucial relief operation in Beirut, Lebanon, aimed at assisting families impacted by the ongoing conflict and displacement.

In collaboration with the Lebanese Red Cross and Lebanon’s Ministry of Social Affairs, QRCS is delivering aid through its Lebanon office to reach those most in need.

This humanitarian initiative will support 20,700 beneficiaries, providing 4,140 food parcels filled with essential supplies and 3,741 hygiene kits to help families maintain necessary personal care during this crisis.

The project team is actively coordinating with local partners to monitor the evolving situation, ensuring prompt responses to urgent requirements on the ground.

QRCS noted that over one million individuals have been displaced, leading many families into public shelters or temporary accommodations with poor living conditions. With lost incomes and limited access to basic necessities, numerous households face challenges in securing food and hygiene essentials.

This initiative underscores Qatar’s commitment to standing in solidarity with the people of Lebanon during this humanitarian emergency. It exemplifies the collaborative efforts between the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and QRCS to ensure timely delivery of aid, save lives, and facilitate recovery in the affected communities.
