Aldar Properties alongside Mubadala Investment Company has finalized the acquisition of The Link at Masdar City via their joint venture established in 2024. This transaction, valued at AED 654 million, significantly enhances their collection of high-quality, income-generating assets.
This strategic acquisition underscores the rising investment momentum in Abu Dhabi’s real estate and innovation domains, bolstered by robust institutional demand and unwavering confidence in the emirate's long-term economic trajectory.
The Link encompasses approximately 32,000 square meters of net leasable space distributed across five buildings. Currently, the property enjoys full occupancy, hosting prominent global and forward-looking organizations, including Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.
This development features Grade A LEED Platinum-certified office areas, a headquarters with net-zero energy capabilities, a multi-functional hall, and residential spaces, positioning it as a vital component of Masdar City’s integrated and sustainable ecosystem.
Dr. Bakheet Al Katheeri, CEO of Mubadala's UAE Investments Platform, remarked that the acquisition signifies robust confidence in Abu Dhabi’s growth trajectory and innovation-centric economy. He further highlighted that this investment aligns with Mubadala’s strategies to foster sustainable infrastructure while securing substantial financial returns and contributing to the UAE’s Net Zero targets.
Talal Al Dhiyebi, Group CEO of Aldar, emphasized that the acquisition bolsters the firm’s investment portfolio and strengthens its collaboration with Mubadala. He pointed out that the asset enhances their footprint in a globally acknowledged hub centered on clean energy, cutting-edge technology, and research.
Ahmed Baghoum, CEO of Masdar City, described The Link as a significant enhancement to the city’s vision. He claimed it embodies the combination of sustainability with economic expansion and future industries, further solidifying Abu Dhabi's reputation as a hub for global innovation.
