Susie Wiles Stirs Controversy with Bold Comments on Musk and Vance

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles has ignited significant political controversy with her blunt remarks regarding prominent figures in President Donald Trump’s circle, revealed in her recent interviews with Vanity Fair.

During the discussion, Wiles labeled Tesla CEO Elon Musk as an “avowed” user of ketamine, noting her lack of direct evidence for such claims. She reflected on Musk’s unpredictable leadership while he was at the helm of the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency, a program focused on drastically downsizing the federal workforce.

Wiles portrayed Musk as a “complete solo actor,” mentioning that his rapid decision-making led to unforeseen cancellations of government initiatives, including those associated with the US Agency for International Development (USAID). Initially, she expressed being “aghast” at these closures, particularly those programs that President Trump had aimed to safeguard.

Musk has previously refuted ongoing ketamine use allegations, asserting that he experimented with it under medical advice years ago. He and his representatives have yet to respond to Wiles’ latest remarks.

Critique of Senior Administration Figures

Aside from her comments on Musk, Wiles also directed sharp criticism towards other senior officials. She referred to Vice President JD Vance as a “conspiracy theorist” and called budget chief Russ Vought a “right-wing absolute zealot.”

Regarding Vance’s shifting political stance, Wiles alleged that his transition from a Trump critic to a loyal ally was motivated by political strategy coinciding with his Senate campaign. Vance has claimed his support for Trump strengthened once he recognized the president as “the right person to save the country.”

Controversy Surrounding Epstein Files

Wiles expressed discontent concerning Attorney General Pam Bondi’s management of documents linked to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, stating that the release of binders labeled “The Epstein Files: Phase 1” failed to meet expectations as they provided no new insights.

She further refuted the existence of any alleged client list associated with Epstein, insisting that “There is no client list, and it sure as hell wasn’t on her desk.” Wiles noted that while President Trump’s name appears in the Epstein documents, it carries no implication of wrongdoing.

White House's Response

The White House acted swiftly to mitigate the backlash. Wiles stated via social media that her comments were taken out of context, characterizing the article as a “disingenuously framed hit piece.” Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt publicly endorsed Wiles, describing her as President Trump’s most loyal and trusted adviser.

Political Ramifications and Economic Concerns

Wiles also touched on the internal rifts surrounding Trump’s reciprocal tariff policy, which contributed to earlier market instability. She acknowledged significant divisions within the administration, labeling the policy rollout as “more painful than expected.”

Recent polling suggests a drop in approval ratings for President Trump, with voters growing increasingly anxious about economic stability and policy unpredictability.
