Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli continues to inspire millions, both on and off the field. On Sunday, Kohli made history by becoming the fastest cricketer in the world to score 28,000 runs across all formats. He reached this milestone during India’s first One Day International against New Zealand, achieving the feat in just 624 innings — faster than legends Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara.
Kohli’s innings of 93 runs off 91 balls helped India secure a crucial win, and he was named Player of the Match for the 45th time in his career. Despite the records, Kohli remained humble, saying he focuses on helping the team rather than chasing personal milestones. “Honestly, I’m not thinking about milestones while playing. My goal is always to play the match situation correctly and give my team the best chance to win,” he said.
In a heartfelt gesture, Virat Kohli sent all his trophies to his mother in Gurgaon, explaining that she loves keeping them. This simple act shows the personal side of the cricketing icon, highlighting his respect and gratitude toward family. Kohli described his journey in cricket as “nothing short of a dream come true” and said he feels blessed to bring happiness to fans through his performances.
Kohli also shared insights about his batting strategy. He prefers to take calculated risks and play positively rather than waiting too long at the crease. “Some balls have your name on them, and you have to back yourself. I try to put the opposition under pressure while staying within my strengths,” he said.
He also spoke about the crowds cheering when he comes to bat, even if another player is leaving the field. Kohli admitted he feels a bit bad for the outgoing batter but understands it is part of the excitement of the game.
India captain Shubman Gill praised Kohli’s consistency, saying, “It’s tough to start on these pitches, but Kohli makes batting look easy. We hope he continues to pile on the runs and inspire the team.”
With this milestone, Virat Kohli has cemented his place as one of cricket’s all-time greats. His achievements go beyond statistics — his humility, dedication, and love for family make him a true role model. Sending his trophies to his mother in Gurgaon is a perfect reflection of his gratitude and personal values.
Kohli’s journey is a reminder that success is not just about records, but about inspiring people, giving back to family, and staying grounded while chasing dreams.
