Innovative Community Responder App Unveiled in Abu Dhabi

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

In a significant move, the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, in partnership with the Emergency, Crises and Disasters Management Centre, has launched the Community Responder application, now available on popular app stores. This initiative forms part of the developed second phase of the “Our Community is Ready” campaign.

The launch symbolizes a crucial advancement in establishing a systematic volunteer network focused on enhancing community readiness and improving the efficiency of emergency response tactics. This initiative aims to bolster the protection of lives and properties throughout the emirate.

The app is a key result of the General Framework for Joint Action on Community Participation and Volunteering, created through strategic collaborations with essential organizations such as the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an and the Emirates Foundation’s SANID Programme. It also showcases ongoing partnerships with the “We Are All Police” initiative, emphasizing a unified governmental approach to nurturing a sustainable, coordinated volunteer network.

This smart digital solution allows volunteers to undergo certified training, effectively equipping them with necessary skills to assist in emergencies. This approach aims to enhance response times, streamline collaboration with authorities, and improve incident management.

Officials highlighted that this initiative resonates with Abu Dhabi’s forward-thinking vision of empowering residents and fostering a culture of prevention and joint responsibility. They have urged community members to sign up on the platform and actively participate in bolstering safety and security across the emirate.

This development underscores the value of volunteerism as a fundamental principle in Abu Dhabi’s community structure, reinforcing a resilient and well-prepared populace.
