University of Sharjah Honors 664 Female Graduates in Grand Ceremonies

The University of Sharjah proudly celebrated the graduation of 664 women during two distinguished ceremonies, held under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University.

In the initial ceremony, 335 graduates were conferred their degrees from the Colleges of Business Administration, Engineering, Computing and Informatics, and Science. The subsequent ceremony commemorated 329 graduates from the Colleges of Communication, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Public Policy, Sharia and Islamic Studies, Fine Arts and Design, and Law.

Both ceremonies commenced with the UAE national anthem and a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, creating a tone of dignity and festivity for this notable occasion.

Dr Essam Al Din Ajami, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, expressed heartfelt gratitude for His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi’s presence and support. He congratulated the graduates on their hard-earned achievements and acknowledged the significant role their families played in their academic pursuits.

Dr Ajami reiterated the university’s dedication to fostering education that enriches society with knowledge and values. He emphasized that the University of Sharjah transcends physical infrastructure, signifying a commitment to human development that focuses on integrating knowledge with ethical principles, addressing real-world challenges, and ensuring women’s vital contributions to future advancements.

In highlighting the institution’s rising global stature, the Chancellor conveyed to the graduates that they are leaving a university that prioritizes excellence as a defining ethos. He noted the recognition of the university’s academic and research merits by prestigious international ranking organizations and its emergence as a regional nexus for innovation and solutions.

In closing, Dr Ajami motivated the graduates to embrace their roles as educated women who can lead, innovate, and foster positive change in scientific and technological domains.

Hind Musallam Al Marzouqi, representing the graduates from the College of Computing and Informatics, expressed gratitude to Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for his inspiring role in the university's journey. She thanked university staff and parents for their unwavering support, declaring, “We will be the best ambassadors for our faith, nation, and university with strong values guiding our paths.”

Another graduate spokesperson, Reem Salah Al Hashemi from the College of Law, shared her belief that the university provided more than just academic knowledge, stating, “It was a space where we entered with questions and exited with deeper understanding and strengthened identities.” She congratulated her fellow graduates, families, and the university’s leadership.

At the conclusion of the ceremonies, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi presented diplomas to graduates from all participating faculties, celebrating their achievements and wishing them success in their future endeavors.

The festivities underscored both academic excellence and the University of Sharjah's unwavering commitment to empowering women, preparing a new generation eager to contribute to national progress.
