Berlin:

Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan participated in the Third International Conference on Sudan in Berlin, reiterating the UAE’s commitment to resolving the ongoing conflict and providing humanitarian aid.

The event was organized by Germany alongside other nations including the European Union, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the African Union, building on the discussions that took place in Paris and London.

Addressing the Humanitarian Emergency and Ceasefire Call

As the conflict in Sudan marks its third anniversary, the conference aimed to bolster humanitarian efforts, advocate for a ceasefire, and promote a civilian-led political transition.

Sheikh Shakhboot, in his speech, highlighted the urgent necessity of halting the violence, condemning all parties for their actions, and emphasizing the need to safeguard civilian lives.

UAE’s Commitment Since April 2023

He stressed that since the conflict erupted in April 2023, the UAE has consistently supported:

  • A prompt ceasefire along with a humanitarian truce

  • Unhindered humanitarian access throughout Sudan

  • A civilian-led peaceful resolution to the crisis

  • Emergency initiatives to mitigate the humanitarian disaster

He pointed out that through the Quad, the UAE has actively promoted a seamless truce and a lasting ceasefire while advocating for a transition to a civilian-led government devoid of extremist influences.

Emphasizing Global Collaboration

Sheikh Shakhboot called for enhanced regional and international cooperation to put an end to the hostilities, affirming the UAE’s support for all peace restoration initiatives in Sudan.

Meanwhile, he engaged in discussions with various global officials during the conference, focusing on regional issues and security cooperation.

Continued Commitment from the UAE

The UAE remains steadfast in its effort to collaborate with global and regional partners—particularly in Africa—to confront the crisis, deliver humanitarian support, and promote sustainable development for the Sudanese populace.

This commitment reflects the UAE's long-standing values of humanitarian assistance and a dedication to uplifting communities worldwide.
