Samsung Launches Third Beta of One UI 8.5 for Foldable Devices

Post by : Shweta

Samsung has announced the availability of the third beta for One UI 8.5, built on Android 16, specifically for its newest foldable models, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. The rollout is taking place in South Korea, with plans to expand globally in the near future.

This update prioritizes increased system stability, correcting a range of issues identified by beta testers from previous versions. It includes firmware versions concluding with ZZD3 and introduces six specific bug fixes aimed at enriching the user experience.

Key enhancements include a fix for the lock screen weather AI background that previously displayed as black upon screen activation. Additionally, it rectified an issue where the interaction between the phone and call screen interface was erratic, alongside addressing a problem with the status bar that would not disappear during immersive activities such as video viewing and gaming.

More improvements involve reinstating the send button for shared links in text messages and fixing a bug that prevented images from showing on the cover screen. The update also corrects a camera issue that caused the application to crash upon launch.

Currently, this update is accessible only to those enrolled in the One UI 8.5 beta testing program. Interested participants can download the latest update by checking the software update section in their device settings.

Samsung is likely to issue more updates as it fine-tunes the software in preparation for the official release, showcasing its commitment to enhancing the functionality and dependability of its foldable devices ahead of a broader launch.
