The National Academy for Childhood Development has commenced the application process for its fourth cohort of the Accredited Vocational Diploma in Childhood Development. Aspiring candidates can register from April 20 to May 4, 2026.
This program reinforces the academy’s commitment to nurturing a talented national workforce within the childhood development arena. It is designed to equip professionals with the skills needed to facilitate children’s growth using both theoretical and practical methods.
Since its inception, the diploma has attracted significant interest, garnering over 22,500 applications in the last three years. Only 304 candidates were chosen, indicating a competitive landscape with an acceptance rate of merely 1.35%.
The initiative has encouraged the participation of UAE Nationals, with 114 Emirati students currently enrolled, underscoring the increasing recognition of early childhood development's vital role in fostering a robust, sustainable society.
Accredited by the National Qualifications Center, this 18-month diploma program incorporates a well-structured curriculum marrying academic knowledge with practical experience. It includes 25 modules spread across five stages: 20 are undertaken during the academic phase, followed by five modules during an immersive six-month field training period.
The curriculum covers essential subjects such as theories of child development, behavior management, child protection and wellbeing, along with family engagement. Emphasis is also placed on Emirati culture, national identity, and proficiency in the Arabic language.
Students benefit from hands-on field training at prestigious organizations such as the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, and the Family Care Authority, enabling them to apply theoretical insights in professional settings.
The program is delivered completely in Arabic to further bolster the language's prominence in educational and professional domains across the UAE.
All selected applicants will receive full scholarships alongside a monthly stipend, allowing them to dedicate themselves entirely to their education and career development.
Applications are accepted via the academy’s official website or the NAPO digital platform until May 4, 2026.
In a recent ceremony, the academy celebrated the graduation of 191 students from its first and second cohorts, with many graduates already contributing to the workforce in both governmental and private sectors, advancing the childhood development field in the UAE.
This program plays a crucial role in cultivating qualified individuals and nurturing partnerships essential for the growth of the childhood development ecosystem within the nation.
