UAE Empowers Next-Gen Business Leaders with Legacy Skills

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

The UAE is fast emerging as a hub for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, drawing private capital with its robust infrastructure, investor-friendly regulations, and premium real estate. Riding this wave, Emirates NBD, a leading banking group in the MENAT region, recently hosted the second edition of its Private Banking Next Generation programme, aimed at equipping young business leaders with the tools to preserve and grow their family legacies.

Titled ‘From Legacy to Leadership’, the programme was organized in collaboration with PwC and Visa, offering participants insights into governance in family businesses, entrepreneurship, leadership skills, and the evolving role of technology such as Generative AI in business strategy.

The initiative comes at a time when the Middle East is witnessing a major inter-generational transfer of wealth, projected to exceed USD 1 trillion by 2030. Families with diversified assets increasingly seek guidance to navigate complex legal, regulatory, and financial landscapes, as well as to ensure strong succession planning and governance.

Through this programme, participants gained a deeper understanding of how to become effective board members, manage wealth responsibly, and drive business growth while maintaining their family’s vision and values. By connecting emerging leaders with industry experts, Emirates NBD aims to foster strategic thinking and practical skills for sustainable success.

This initiative reflects a broader shift in private banking towards holistic client engagement, where empowering the next generation is as critical as wealth management itself. As young leaders prepare to take the helm, programs like these play a crucial role in building resilient, forward-looking family enterprises.
