A derailment involving a night train on its way from Moscow to Chelyabinsk resulted in injuries to at least 55 passengers in western Russia, with multiple carriages overturning.
The incident took place close to Bryandino village in the Ulyanovsk Oblast, situated roughly 1,000 kilometers east of Moscow. Official reports indicate that seven carriages derailed.
Regional governor Aleksey Yuryevich Russkikh confirmed that there were no fatalities. The train was transporting about 415 passengers at the time of the incident.
Emergency responders acted promptly, and all injured passengers were sent to local hospitals for necessary care. Authorities have not yet provided details regarding the cause of the derailment, and an investigation is currently in progress.
Railway authorities are working diligently to restore services in the affected region while prioritizing passenger and infrastructure safety.
