Approval for 1,000 New Emirati Government Jobs in Sharjah

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Sharjah, UAE:

His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has given the go-ahead for the recruitment of 1,000 Emirati men and women within the Government of Sharjah, slated for January 2026. This decision underscores the emirate's dedicated efforts towards enhancing national employment opportunities.

This initiative is a follow-up to the successful employment of 3,145 Emirati citizens in 2025, reflecting Sharjah's ongoing goals to broaden job prospects for its citizens. Interviews for the upcoming roles are set to commence next Monday, facilitating a swift entry for eligible candidates into the hiring process.

The employment initiative falls under a series of measures personally overseen by the Ruler, aimed at empowering the Emirati workforce, ensuring job stability for families, and meeting local employment needs by regularly generating new government positions.

In 2025, new recruits were placed across various central and decentralized government bodies in Sharjah, with the appointments comprising 1,994 men and 1,151 women, leading to total employment expenditures surpassing AED 950 million.

His Highness has continually emphasized the importance of providing sustainable job opportunities that enable young Emiratis to contribute actively to the development of the emirate, foster secure family lives, and attain a respectable living standard. Additionally, these appointments assist government institutions in leveraging qualified national talents, thereby improving overall efficiency within the public sector.

This latest recruitment decision further solidifies Sharjah's status as a frontrunner in advocating for Emirati employment and investing in human capital for sustained growth.
