Sharjah University and Tamayuz Forge Strategic MoU for Excellence

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, presided over the signing of a pivotal memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the University of Sharjah (UOS) and the Tamayuz Institutional Excellence Award. This agreement, finalized at the university, sets the stage for a knowledge empowerment initiative aimed at boosting institutional excellence.

Fostering Quality and Competitive Standards

During the signing event, His Highness underscored the importance of the Tamayuz Award in elevating institutional performance and promoting a robust quality culture. He pointed out that insights gleaned from previous discussions are being actively put to use to further refine the award framework.

He highlighted that even though excellence is prevalent across various institutions, such accolades are essential for identifying high achievers and cultivating a competitive spirit that fosters continual progress. Entities participating in this initiative are also encouraged to utilize feedback from past award cycles and nominate staff for targeted training.

MoU Emphasizes Human Resource Development

The MoU was formalized by Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Director of the Tamayuz Award, and Professor Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, surrounded by senior officials.

This agreement places a strong emphasis on the development of human talent through training in excellence frameworks. Notable initiatives include:

  • Institutional Excellence Diploma for organizational teams

  • Job Excellence Programme for individual contributors

These programs aim to furnish participants with the abilities required to compile and present excellence portfolios in alignment with recognized standards.

Creating a Sustainable Culture of Excellence

The partnership establishes a versatile framework poised for future collaborations and an expansion of programs. It signifies a strategic maneuver towards adopting excellence as an enduring aspect of organizational culture, rather than merely a transient objective.

Officials noted that this collaboration successfully bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and its practical application, empowering institutions to embrace structured methodologies for sustainable performance results.

Leaders Affirm Impact and Vision

Hassan Al Mansouri commended the enduring support from the award’s leadership, asserting that it inspires institutions to elevate their performance and fortifies cross-sector collaboration.

Professor Esameldin Agamy reiterated that this partnership will aid organizations in translating excellence concepts into actionable strategies while enhancing teamwork and institutional competencies. He also pointed out that the award’s diverse categories serve as a significant strength, encouraging innovation and healthy competition.

Mona Al Ghawi, General Coordinator of the Tamayuz Award, emphasized that this initiative goes beyond mere training. She characterized it as a foundation for developing knowledge-driven institutions capable of adapting to change and achieving sustainable growth.

Delivering Tangible Outcomes through Training

Dr. Asmaa Nusairi, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development, elaborated on the structure of the training programs.

The Job Excellence Programme encompasses 40 training hours, concentrating on assisting employees in transforming their individual successes into measurable institutional impacts. It includes hands-on workshops, evaluation simulations, and the preparation of comprehensive nomination files.

Conversely, the Institutional Excellence Professional Diploma provides 120 hours of training targeted at excellence teams and organizational leaders. The program spans all primary award categories and integrates real-world projects to guarantee direct relevance in the workplace.

A Commitment to Continuous Improvement

The MoU signifies a key milestone in Sharjah’s dedication to fostering institutional excellence. By focusing on training, knowledge exchange, and collaborative strategy, this initiative aims to cultivate agile, future-ready institutions geared for sustainable success.
