The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) took a prominent role in the 2026 ECOSOC Youth Forum at the United Nations Headquarters, highlighting Qatar's unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable development objectives.
Under the theme “Innovate, Unite and Transform: Youth Shaping the Road to 2030,” the forum convened young leaders, representatives from UN member states, and global partners to propel progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This gathering underscored the essential role of youth in fostering innovation, collaboration, and crafting inclusive policies on a global stage.
QFFD's engagement showcased Qatar’s leadership in furthering the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda, emphasizing the need for young individuals to be active participants in peacebuilding, social cohesion, and sustainable development efforts.
During the event, QFFD participated in an Expert-to-Youth Dialogue titled “From Doha to the World: Youth-led Partnerships to Advance the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda and Accelerate the SDGs.” This side event, coordinated by Qatar’s Ministry of Sports and Youth, gathered key stakeholders—including government officials, international organizations, and civil society—to explore collaborative strategies focusing on SDGs 6, 7, 9, 11, and 17.
Ibrahim Abdulla Al-Baker, Global Advocacy Researcher representing QFFD, emphasized the organization's role in facilitating scalable, innovative solutions. He pointed out how youth-driven initiatives can significantly enhance peacebuilding efforts and bolster international cooperation.
This event adds momentum leading up to the Arab Youth, Peace and Security Forum, set to occur in Doha in November 2026, further establishing Qatar as a focal point for dialogue on youth-driven development and peace initiatives.
QFFD reiterated its promise to support inclusive, youth-centered solutions that aim to achieve the SDGs while contributing to a more resilient and peaceful global future.
