Pakistan Pushes for US-Iran Talks as PM and Army Chief End Key Visits

Post by : Raina Nasser

Pakistan is stepping up efforts to support peace talks between the United States and Iran. The country’s top leaders have just completed important international visits aimed at bringing both sides closer to dialogue and reducing tensions in the region.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif returned home after visiting Turkiye, along with stops in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. During his trip, he met leaders and pushed for more discussions to resolve the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran. He said he is committed to promoting peace and strong cooperation with other countries.

At the same time, Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir completed a three-day visit to Tehran, the capital of Iran. He met senior Iranian leaders, including government officials and military commanders, to discuss ways to support a peaceful solution. His visit showed Pakistan’s strong role in helping both sides come to the table.

These efforts come as talks between the US and Iran are expected to happen soon in Islamabad. Although earlier discussions did not lead to an agreement, there is still hope that new talks could bring progress. Reports suggest that both sides are under pressure to reach a deal, especially after rising tensions in the region.

US President Donald Trump has also indicated that another round of talks may take place soon. He even praised Pakistan’s leadership for their efforts to support diplomacy and peace.

The situation remains delicate, especially after Iran reimposed restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz. This key oil route is very important for global trade, and any disruption can affect the world economy.

With active diplomacy and ongoing discussions, Pakistan is trying to play a key role in reducing tensions and helping both sides find a peaceful solution. The coming days will be crucial as the world watches for signs of progress in US-Iran talks.
