HE Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, emphasized the crucial impact of educational institutions in cultivating national talent and capabilities. He detailed how these platforms empower the youth to hone their skills, broaden their knowledge, and equip themselves for forthcoming challenges.
The Minister pointed out that dedication, hard work, and resilience are key for young individuals to fulfill their ambitions. He remarked that these attributes not only benefit academic pursuits but also contribute to the nation's overall development. By concentrating on their studies and projects, students can actively contribute to Qatar’s advancement.
Dr. Al Subaie shared these insights during a lecture at Qatar Foundation’s Academic Bridge Program (ABP), attended by ABP students, senior management, and Abeer Al Khalifa, President of Pre-University Education at Qatar Foundation. The Minister seized the chance to inspire students to remain dedicated to learning and maximize the opportunities presented by ABP.
During his visit, he reviewed several student projects focusing on environmental sustainability and innovative approaches to artificial intelligence. The creativity and problem-solving aptitude showcased in these projects illustrated the high-quality training and education offered by the ABP.
Dr. Al Subaie was also informed about the educational and training opportunities available through ABP, which prepare pre-university students for advanced education and equip them with the skills necessary to excel in top universities, both in Qatar and abroad. He commended ABP's commitment to fostering students’ academic success and preparing them for future careers.
Founded in 2001 by HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation and Education Above All, the Academic Bridge Program has become a premier academic institution in Qatar. It aims to qualify students for admission to universities in Education City and prestigious institutions globally. ABP plays a pivotal role in linking pre-university education with higher educational opportunities.
Dr. Al Subaie’s visit highlighted the significance of education in nurturing youth potential and enhancing national capacity. By engaging with students and examining their projects, the Minister reaffirmed the importance of academic programs that integrate practical skills with innovation and creativity. He urged students to maintain their commitment, persist, and aim for excellence.
This visit also underscored Qatar’s dedication to investing in education as a national imperative. Initiatives like ABP not only pave the way for individual student success but also foster the country's comprehensive progress. By nurturing young talent, Qatar secures a skilled and proficient future workforce ready to tackle the demands of an ever-evolving world.
