3.4 Magnitude Quake Shakes Kundasang, No Injuries Reported

Early Tuesday morning, Kundasang in Sabah was rattled by a minor earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale, which generated light tremors in adjacent areas. The quake struck around 3:02 AM, as per the Malaysian Meteorological Department.

The epicenter was located roughly 8 kilometers northwest of Ranau, occurring at a depth of 10 kilometers. While the tremors were subtle, they were perceptible to residents in the vicinity.

Officials reported that there have been no incidents of property damage or injuries at this time. Monitoring teams are actively assessing the conditions in both Kundasang and Ranau, declaring the situation stable.

Rantey Fred from the local fire and rescue department noted that there were no emergency calls received post-tremor. Authorities remain vigilant as a preventive measure.

Residents who felt the tremors are encouraged to relay their experiences through official channels to aid in data collection and monitoring efforts. This information is crucial to understanding the quake's effects.

Those in the impacted regions are advised to stay calm and adhere to safety guidelines during seismic events, including moving to open areas when tremors are felt and avoiding panic.
