Kiefer Sutherland Leads in Uplifting Holiday Film Tinsel Town

Post by : Mina Rahman

In the heartwarming film Tinsel Town, actor Kiefer Sutherland takes on the role of Bradley Mack, a fading star from Hollywood lamenting his career's decline. Once known for his challenging nature on set, Mack finds himself struggling to secure new roles after completing his seventh action film. Left with minimal choices, he accepts a position in a quaint Christmas pantomime in England, far removed from the glitz of the West End.

Throughout the movie, Sutherland demonstrates his singing and dancing prowess while navigating a spectrum of emotions. Mack builds genuine connections with his vibrant co-stars and rekindles his relationship with his estranged daughter.

At the film's London premiere, Sutherland expressed, “It's rewarding to follow a character who evolves from his flaws, ultimately discovering the spirit of Christmas and becoming a better individual through his daughter. It’s a beautiful message of warmth and festivity.”

The 58-year-old star shared, “I had never done a musical number before. It posed challenges, yet it was exhilarating. After four decades in this industry, embracing something new is refreshing.”

Rebel Wilson portrays the pantomime's choreographer, Jill, while Theodora Williams, the daughter of pop icon Robbie Williams and actress Ayda Field, makes her acting debut as Jill's daughter, Cara. Williams recounted, “My mother encouraged me to immerse myself in the experience. I had concerns about my Yorkshire accent, but focusing on the moment helped me succeed beautifully.”

Directed by Chris Foggin, Tinsel Town is tailored as a festive family film honoring the rich tradition of British pantomime. Other notable cast members include Katherine Ryan as Mack's agent and Derek Jacobi as Albert, a devoted theatre enthusiast. Actress Maria Friedman remarked, “The film exudes a sense of British warmth and kindness. It has a big heart, something we all truly need today.”
