Erdogan to speak with Trump on Ukraine peace efforts and Gaza crisis

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that he will speak with United States President Donald Trump in a phone call scheduled for Monday. The discussion will focus on the war between Ukraine and Russia, as well as the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Erdogan shared this information while speaking to reporters in Istanbul on Friday. He said the conversation would cover peace efforts in Eastern Europe and the wider impact of conflicts in the Middle East. Turkey has maintained diplomatic contact with both Russia and Ukraine and has often offered to act as a mediator between the two sides.

Turkey has played an important role since the war in Ukraine began. Erdogan also confirmed that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will attend an upcoming meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris.
