Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has celebrated the outstanding performance of Dubai’s aviation industry, emphasizing its pivotal role in linking global markets and facilitating economic progress. The sector is steadily evolving under the foresight of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
He praised the commitment and effectiveness of the team at Dubai International Airport (DXB), which is led by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who also oversees the civil aviation sector and Emirates Airline Group.
During his recent visit to the airport, Sheikh Hamdan assessed passenger services, including operations run by Emirates Airline. His tour also included a stop at the Dubai Police operations center, where he received updates on security technologies and smart systems designed to enhance passenger safety and facilitate smooth travel.
Officials detailed ongoing improvements aimed at increasing efficiency through advanced technologies that streamline processes and boost passenger comfort, featuring smart systems intended to manage traffic and ensure seamless operations.
Sheikh Hamdan conveyed his pride in the personnel from Dubai Airports, Emirates, and flydubai, highlighting their ability to uphold high safety and efficiency standards amid ever-evolving global conditions.
He noted that Dubai Airports significantly contributes to the city’s economic prosperity, reinforcing its standing as a global aviation hub. Future expansions will prioritize innovation, robust infrastructure, and skilled talent to further enhance Dubai’s international connectivity.
Furthermore, he assessed Emirates Airline's operations, praising its critical role in connecting Dubai with global destinations. The airline currently services 123 locations across 65 nations, thereby bolstering Dubai’s aviation prominence worldwide. He acknowledged the exceptional professionalism of pilots and cabin crew in maintaining excellent service quality.
Sheikh Hamdan was also provided insights into the airline’s Network Operations Control Centre, which utilizes cutting-edge technologies including artificial intelligence, computer vision, and real-time mapping. These innovations are pivotal in tracking flights, weather changes, and global events, ensuring timely flight operations and efficient cargo transport.
In 2025, Dubai International Airport reached a landmark achievement by accommodating over 95 million passengers. It secured its title as the world’s busiest international airport for the 12th successive year, with total flight operations hitting 454,800, symbolizing a 3.3% growth from the previous year and indicating consistent enhancements in capacity and international connectivity.
