Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh and helmed by Aditya Dhar, continues to rise in the box office ranks over six weeks post its December 5 launch. The spy action thriller has amassed an outstanding Rs 871.9 crore in the domestic market alone.

As of January 17, updates noted that Dhurandhar generated Rs 869.8 crore in its initial 42 days, adding Rs 2.1 crore on day 43. The film’s ongoing daily revenue highlights its commanding performance at cinemas nationwide and overseas.

A breakdown reveals the film's impressive weekly earnings: Rs 218 crore in Week 1, Rs 261.5 crore in Week 2, Rs 189.3 crore in Week 3, Rs 115.7 crore in Week 4, Rs 56.35 crore in Week 5, and Rs 28.95 crore in Week 6. This strong performance underscores Dhurandhar’s sustained popularity in theaters.

Industry players have lauded the lead roles, especially Ranveer Singh’s nuanced depiction. One prominent critic highlighted Ranveer’s capacity to express deep emotions while portraying a covert agent longingly connected to his homeland, making his performance remarkable.

The film’s plot draws from significant real-life events, including the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and Operation Lyari, offering viewers a compelling and intense storyline.

Anticipation is growing for Dhurandhar 2, set to hit theaters on March 19, promising to continue the exhilarating saga.
