Tragic Building Collapse in Philippines Claims 4 Lives

In a heartbreaking incident early Sunday morning, a multi-storey building in Angeles City, Pampanga province, collapsed, leading to the death of four individuals and leaving 17 people unaccounted for, as per reports from local authorities on Monday.

The local Bureau of Fire Protection reported that rescue teams successfully retrieved three bodies from the wreckage. Additionally, one person staying at a nearby apartelle tragically lost their life due to debris from the collapse.

As of Sunday afternoon, authorities confirmed that at least 26 individuals had been rescued, with 24 pulled directly from the crumbled structure and two others saved from the nearby affected apartelle.

Officials noted that 10 of the rescued survivors sustained injuries and received medical care at local hospitals.

Emergency teams are maintaining search and rescue operations as they work diligently to locate the individuals who remain trapped beneath the debris.

An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the reasons behind the building's collapse.
