After Israel launched a sudden attack on Iran, the country of Iraq decided to shut down its airspace. This means that no planes are allowed to fly over Iraq for now. On Friday, Iraq's state media shared that all flights across the country are now stopped. This includes flights taking off or landing at Iraqi airports.
Because of this, Air India has given a new update for its passengers. The airline posted on its social media account, X (earlier called Twitter), explaining the situation. Air India said that some of its flights are being sent to other countries or are going back to where they started. This is being done to keep passengers safe.
Air India also said that it understands this is upsetting and is trying to help passengers as much as possible. The airline is giving hotel stays to affected travelers and is also allowing free cancellations or rescheduling for those who don’t want to fly right now. They are also making new plans to help passengers reach their final destination soon.
Passengers have been asked to check their flight status at this link: https://dsxcz
