The 2025 Global Soccer Awards were a spectacle of football excellence, as stars and fans united to commemorate this year's significant achievements. The event, graced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, underscored the evening's grandeur and significance.
Ousmane Dembélé, the gifted forward of Paris Saint-Germain, marked a personal milestone by being named Best Men's Player, a prestigious title he secured for the first time. Dembélé's thrilling performances have captivated followers worldwide. Meanwhile, FC Barcelona's Aitana Bonmatí continued her dominance in women's football, clinching the Best Women's Player award for the third year running, solidifying her reputation as a leading star.
PSG scored multiple victories, crowned as Best Men's Club for their remarkable achievements, including the UEFA Champions League and Ligue 1 titles. Additionally, individual accolades were awarded: Luis Enrique was named Best Coach, while Vitinha emerged as Best Midfielder. The Emerging Player title went to rising star Désiré Doué, and recognition was given to club management, with Luis Campos labeled Best Sporting Director and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi recognized as Best President.
FC Barcelona celebrated as well, receiving the Best Women's Club award alongside Bonmatí’s success. Lamine Yamal, an emerging 18-year-old talent, stole the spotlight by winning the Best Forward award and the coveted Maradona Award, showcasing the promising future of the sport.
The evening also honored football legends, including Andrés Iniesta, awarded for his pivotal role in Spain's 2010 World Cup victory, and Hidetoshi Nakata, celebrated for his significant contributions in the game.
In a moving tribute, the awards honored the late Diogo Jota, Liverpool and Portugal forward, who tragically lost his life in a car accident. Jota's parents received a heartfelt recognition, symbolizing love and remembrance from the footballing community.
