On November 19, Waaree Energies experienced a significant downturn in its stock prices after confirming that officials from the Income Tax Department had conducted visits to its various offices and facilities. This announcement came through an exchange filing on Monday evening, as the company stated it was cooperating fully with the ongoing investigations.
The stock faced immediate downward pressure when trading resumed on Tuesday morning. By 9:55 am, shares of Waaree Energies had decreased by nearly 4% to Rs 3,156, following a drop of as much as 6% in earlier trading sessions. This decline is notable given the stock’s overall upward trajectory this year, having appreciated by 17% in 2025.
Market participants are proceeding with caution amid the lack of clarity about the nature of the Income Tax officials' visit. The company has retained a tight-lipped stance on additional information, leading to a cautious sentiment among investors as they await further disclosures from official sources.
At present, the company's acknowledgment of ongoing investigations has introduced a layer of short-term volatility, compelling the market to stay alert for any new updates that could arise.
