The UAE's National Library and Archives is enhancing access to its storied past with a virtual exploration of the Sheikh Suroor bin Mohamed Al Nahyan Hall. Utilizing innovative technology, individuals globally can navigate through the hall and discover the significant contributions of one of the UAE's esteemed figures.
Dedicated to His Highness Sheikh Suroor bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, the hall functions as a distinctive documentary platform. It showcases a range of historical documents, records, photographs, and archived materials, shedding light on his vital role in UAE's development and his close ties with the nation’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The hall's burgeoning popularity indicates a robust public interest in the UAE's history and leadership achievements. During 2025, more than 9,000 visitors engaged with the hall, showing a keen desire to learn about the country's legacy and the influential individuals who have shaped it.
Guests at the hall can experience an enlightening journey through the significant life of Sheikh Suroor bin Mohamed Al Nahyan. Exhibits highlight his responsibilities and national roles held between 1966 and 2003, supported by large-screen documentaries featuring his insights on the UAE's founding, the Union's strength, and pivotal achievements under the nation's leadership.
A prominent highlight of the hall is its collection of personal artifacts and historical items. Visitors can admire over 10 medals, commemorative shields, honorary gifts, and various artifacts that signify crucial events in his life and public service. Additionally, the hall displays rare photographs from his private collection, providing a deeper understanding of his national and personal journey.
Moreover, the exhibition includes exclusive film footage, featuring a personal interview in which Sheikh Suroor bin Mohamed Al Nahyan talks about UAE's unity, the strong foundations of the Union, and the pivotal role the late Sheikh Zayed played in the country’s development.
