In a significant humanitarian effort, the International Charity Organisation has dispatched 50 kidney dialysis machines to Syria's Ministry of Health, greatly enhancing the country's renal-care capabilities. This delivery arrives during a critical time as hospitals grapple with increased kidney failure cases and an urgent need for medical equipment.
During the handover, officials indicated that these machines will be strategically allocated to hospitals and dialysis centres with the most pressing demands. Many health teams in various Syrian districts have been contending with prolonged patient waits and depleted resources, often leading to compromised treatment durations. With these new machines, it is anticipated that patient wait times will diminish and operational efficiency will improve.
This generous initiative was made possible through the contributions of UAE-based donors, who are committed to addressing both immediate and long-term medical needs within Syria. The charity emphasized that the primary goal was to provide essential equipment for immediate patient relief and to assist healthcare workers while ensuring continuous service in the upcoming months.
The organisation has also confirmed that they are conducting further evaluations to pinpoint other gaps in local hospitals and medical facilities, aiming to strategize the subsequent phase of support to bolster Syria's healthcare infrastructure.
