The United Arab Emirates and The Bahamas have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral ties following a high-level meeting between Hazza Ahmed Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba, and Hon. Philip Davis, Prime Minister of The Bahamas. The meeting, held at the government headquarters in Nassau, focused on enhancing diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation between the two nations, highlighting a shared vision for progress and mutual respect.

During the meeting, Ambassador Al Kaabi conveyed warm greetings from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court. He expressed the UAE leadership’s best wishes for continued prosperity and development for the government and people of The Bahamas. This gesture reflected the UAE’s commitment to strengthening relations with friendly nations across the Caribbean and supporting their growth.

Prime Minister Philip Davis expressed his gratitude for the UAE leadership’s message and extended his appreciation for the UAE’s ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation. He conveyed his warm regards to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praising the UAE’s achievements in development, innovation, and diplomacy. Davis also noted that his government looks forward to expanding collaboration with the UAE in areas that will bring long-term benefits to both nations.

As part of his visit to Nassau, Ambassador Al Kaabi participated in Bahamas Diplomatic Week 2025, an annual event that gathers diplomats and global representatives to discuss international cooperation. His participation underscored the UAE’s growing presence in the Caribbean region and its efforts to promote peace, dialogue, and sustainable development. The event provided a platform for the UAE to share its experience in building partnerships that contribute to global progress and stability.

On the sidelines of Diplomatic Week, Ambassador Al Kaabi held a series of meetings with Bahamian ministers and senior officials. These discussions explored collaboration in renewable energy, sustainable tourism, education, and climate resilience. Both sides agreed on the importance of developing joint initiatives that address shared challenges and contribute to economic and social growth. The UAE’s expertise in innovation and sustainable development was highlighted as an asset in supporting The Bahamas’ climate and energy goals.

The talks also emphasized joint efforts to support global sustainability initiatives. With The Bahamas facing increasing environmental challenges such as hurricanes and rising sea levels, the UAE offered to share its experience in renewable energy, green technologies, and climate adaptation. Both nations expressed interest in launching projects that promote resilience, environmental protection, and sustainable infrastructure—areas that align with their shared commitment to global environmental goals.

Ambassador Al Kaabi and Bahamian officials discussed ways to strengthen trade and investment links between their countries. The UAE’s advancements in sustainable tourism, technology, and logistics were identified as areas that could complement The Bahamas’ tourism-driven economy. Cultural exchange programmes and youth development initiatives were also proposed to foster mutual understanding and people-to-people connections between Emiratis and Bahamians.

The UAE’s growing engagement in the Caribbean reflects its broader diplomatic strategy of building partnerships that support international cooperation and sustainable progress. By participating in events like Bahamas Diplomatic Week, the UAE continues to promote its vision of global dialogue and inclusivity. These efforts are part of the country’s long-term commitment to developing strong ties with nations that share its values of peace, innovation, and cultural diversity.

Ambassador Al Kaabi reaffirmed that the UAE remains dedicated to strengthening international partnerships through mutual respect and collaboration. He emphasized that the UAE values its growing relationships with Caribbean and Latin American countries and seeks to expand initiatives that promote education, trade, and environmental resilience. The ambassador also highlighted that such partnerships align with the UAE’s vision of supporting global peace and sustainable growth.

The meeting between Ambassador Hazza Al Kaabi and Prime Minister Philip Davis marked an important step in the evolving relationship between the UAE and The Bahamas. Both sides expressed optimism about future cooperation and agreed to continue working together to transform shared goals into concrete outcomes. As the UAE expands its diplomatic and economic engagement across the Caribbean, partnerships like this one demonstrate its commitment to global friendship, cooperation, and sustainable development.
