Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Scheduled to begin on Sunday, the King Abdulaziz Public Library, in collaboration with the Riyadh Education Department, unveils the 26th edition of the Free Reading Festival for public school students.

Running from May 10 to May 14 in Riyadh, this year’s festival will see participation from over 100 schools, bringing together more than 1,550 students alongside their educators.

The festival's main objective is to foster a vibrant reading culture among students, thereby enriching their educational experience. It seeks to broaden their understanding of literature, science, and culture while cultivating a passion for independent reading.

In addition, this event will serve as a stage for students to exhibit their talents and enhance their proficiency in the Arabic language. Educators are encouraged to assist students in establishing consistent reading practices.

Through such efforts, the King Abdulaziz Public Library remains committed to promoting reading by providing a variety of programs and access to numerous books, thus helping students engage with the Kingdom’s rich cultural and literary tapestry.
