Manila: The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of the Philippines have renewed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations during the second session of the UAE-Philippines Consular Committee, held in Manila.

The session was led by Rashed Nadhar Rahmah, Director of the Consular Services Department at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Anne Jalando-on Louis, Assistant Secretary of the Office of Consular Affairs at the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs. Officials and representatives from both sides participated, reflecting the continued dedication to building closer diplomatic and consular cooperation.

Throughout the meeting, both delegations underlined their determination to enhance consular coordination, streamline administrative processes, and ensure effective protection and support for their citizens abroad. The discussions also addressed ways to improve emergency response systems and strengthen mechanisms for crisis management, especially for nationals residing or working in either country.

The UAE side acknowledged the valuable role of the Filipino community in the Emirates, highlighting their contributions to the country’s social and economic development. Meanwhile, the Philippine representatives expressed gratitude for the UAE’s consistent efforts to safeguard the rights and welfare of overseas Filipino workers.

The session also explored opportunities to expand cooperation through digital transformation in consular services, capacity-building initiatives, and knowledge exchange programs between respective government agencies.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both countries reaffirming their shared vision for continued partnership rooted in mutual respect, trust, and a collective aim to enhance the well-being of their citizens. The UAE and the Philippines once again demonstrated their commitment to a strong, forward-looking relationship built on friendship and collaboration.
