Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul Centre (AMMROC) has forged a significant partnership in defence by signing three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) of Egypt.
These agreements were finalized at the UAE National Pavilion during the International Defence Exhibition (EDEX 2025) held in Cairo, aimed at enhancing collaborative efforts in aircraft maintenance, engine support, and helicopter technologies. The signing event was attended by Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement, alongside Mahmood Alhay Alhameli, Group CEO of Abu Dhabi Aviation.
Advancing Aircraft Maintenance and Production
The collaboration between AMMROC and AOI’s Aircraft Factory is set to boost the production, development, and marketing of components for fixed-wing jets and unmanned aerial vehicles. The partnership will enhance AMMROC's existing production lines and create specialized manufacturing cells, all underpinned by rigorous testing and inspection protocols. Central to this cooperation are initiatives for knowledge exchange and technical training.
Innovations in Engine Support and Digital Manufacturing
The second MoU involves AOI’s Engine Factory and Digital Manufacturing Center, emphasizing advanced techniques in engine maintenance, repair, and supply chain efficiencies. This agreement covers the manufacturing of crucial engine components, including specialized heat and surface treatments, while extending the operational lifespan of parts with precise engineering. The use of digital manufacturing techniques will streamline production and enhance quality standards.
Boosting Helicopter System Capabilities
The third MoU with Helwan Factory for Advanced Industries focuses on upgrading helicopter systems, which includes servicing components, structural enhancements, modernization efforts, and setting up dedicated workshops to support local defence operations. Additionally, joint training and knowledge exchange programs are a crucial part of this initiative, aiming to bolster local expertise.
Showcasing MRO Expertise at EDEX 2025
At the EDEX 2025 event, AMMROC showcased its MRO capabilities, featuring models of F-16 and C-130 aircraft and engaging potential partners for future collaborations. These MoUs are reflective of AMMROC’s larger strategy, which seeks to enhance fleet readiness, develop advanced industrial capabilities, and strengthen partnerships both regionally and internationally.
