New Cyprus Business Council Launched in Dubai to Enhance Trade Relations

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

In a pivotal move to enhance economic collaboration, Dubai has unveiled the Cyprus Business Council under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. This initiative is designed to provide a dedicated platform for businesses, investors, and innovators from both Cyprus and the UAE to connect and explore various investment avenues.

This development emphasizes Dubai’s expanding role as a global business hub for Cypriot enterprises. In 2024, the non-oil trade between Dubai and Cyprus reached a significant AED 588 million, indicating a steady rise in commercial interactions. By the conclusion of Q3 2025, a total of 612 Cypriot businesses were recorded as active members of the Dubai Chamber, with 71 new companies joining within the initial nine months of this year.

During the council's inaugural Annual General Meeting, prominent figures were in attendance, including His Excellency George Papanastasiou, Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry of Cyprus, along with representatives from the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism. This meeting highlighted both nations' commitment to cultivating enduring partnerships, aimed at technology exchange, joint ventures, and sustainable growth.

The Cyprus Business Council is tailored to foster real collaborations and generate viable business prospects. With this council, Cypriot companies can expand into Dubai and tap into vast regional and international markets, leveraging Dubai's strategic position and infrastructure.

This council also constitutes part of the Dubai Chamber’s wider network of Business Councils, which advocate for the interests of specific market companies. These councils play a significant role in promoting bilateral trade and investment, contributing to the dynamic growth of Dubai as a prominent global business destination.
