DP World inaugurated the Sokhna Logistics Park in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, marking a notable advance in Egypt’s logistics and trade infrastructure. The facility is intended to improve supply-chain efficiency, support export activity and draw fresh commercial investment.
The opening ceremony brought together senior Egyptian leaders — including Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly — alongside cabinet ministers and international business representatives. Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, reaffirmed the group’s aim to deliver a sustainable, fully integrated logistics platform within Egypt.
Strategic positioning and assets
Located approximately 15 minutes from Sokhna Port, 30 minutes from Suez and 45 minutes from the New Administrative Capital, the park offers strategic connectivity across the region. Upon completion it will span close to 300,000 square metres and is being rolled out in two phases; phase one is operational and phase two is scheduled for completion by Q3 2026.
The site provides both bonded and non-bonded storage options, supports on-site customs inspections and features a dedicated customer portal. It is configured to serve sectors such as agriculture, electronics, automotive components, construction materials, textiles and electric vehicles.
Investment scale and employment impact
DP World has committed USD 85 million to develop the park. Phase one has generated more than 150 jobs, with total employment projected to surpass 300 when the entire project is finalised. Separately, a 16,000 m² cold storage facility is under development in 6th of October City with a USD 29 million investment to strengthen Egypt’s cold chain capacity.
Backing Egypt’s trade expansion
Since 2008 DP World has invested in excess of USD 1.3 billion in Egypt, financing upgrades at Sokhna Port, expanding throughput and integrating supply-chain capabilities. The Sokhna Logistics Park forms a component of a larger plan to create an end-to-end logistics ecosystem that facilitates smoother trade flows and sustainable economic growth.
With strong commercial interest — some 90 customers already in the pipeline — the park is poised to become a key logistics hub that links domestic production with international markets.
