Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) has reported a notable advancement in its onshore exploration programme with the successful drilling and evaluation of its second well, Hadiba-02, at the Hadiba gas field north of the Sajaa area.
Initial production testing of Hadiba-02 identified additional gas-bearing intervals, confirming valuable reserves. The well, which reached approximately 13,200 feet, is slated for connection to existing production infrastructure in the coming months to enable steady and increased gas output.
First discovered in 2024 by Hadiba-01, the Hadiba prospect has already shown substantial gas and associated condensates within the Thamama formations. The addition of a second successful well cements Hadiba’s status as Sharjah’s fifth onshore gas and condensate field and marks the emirate’s second significant discovery in five years.
SNOC said further drilling and evaluation will continue at the Hadiba site to better define the field’s overall capacity, as it emerges as a key element of Sharjah’s domestic energy portfolio.
The company described the result as evidence of steady progress in Sharjah’s exploration efforts and its commitment to long-term energy reliability. As the emirate pursues sustainable development and efficient resource management, the outcome at Hadiba-02 is viewed as a step toward greater energy resilience.
