National Tribute to UAE Martyrs at Wahat Al Karama

His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, presided over a moving tribute at Wahat Al Karama on 30 November, marking Commemoration Day. The ceremony showcased the nation’s profound respect for its martyrs and its dedication to immortalizing their sacrifices within the collective memory.

Organised by the Office of Development and Martyrs Families Affairs, the event began with a moment of silence for the fallen heroes. Attendees observed this sacred time in complete stillness, paying homage to those who gave their lives for the country, while fostering an atmosphere of unity and contemplation. The significance of Wahat Al Karama, with its emblematic architecture celebrating national service, deepened the solemnity of the occasion.

Sheikh Theyab also observed the ceremonial raising of the UAE flag, followed by the national anthem—one of the most poignant highlights of the event. The flag symbolized the bravery, commitment, and loyalty of the martyrs, while the anthem echoed the shared pride of the leadership, the government, and citizens alike.

Central to the ceremony were the values embodying the UAE’s national character—gratitude, resilience, and unity. Families of martyrs, officials, and attendees convened not only to honor those who sacrificed their lives but also to recognize the vital role of preserving their legacy.

Sheikh Theyab reiterated the importance of Commemoration Day, affirming the leadership’s unwavering commitment to supporting the families of martyrs. His attendance highlighted the UAE’s enduring tradition of honoring its heroes through remembrance, action, and steadfast national solidarity.

The observance at Wahat Al Karama once again strengthened the sentiment that the sacrifices of the UAE’s martyrs remain a crucial chapter of the nation’s past and its future aspirations.
