Abu Dhabi — During the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025 in Abu Dhabi, the nation’s leadership underscored its dedication to unity and progress. More than 500 officials from various federal and local entities convened to define the future trajectory of the nation's development with groundbreaking projects aimed at fostering sustainable growth, innovation, and community well-being.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, attended the closing session, highlighting that the success of the UAE is rooted in a cohesive national team united under a single flag and vision. He emphasized that the populace remains central to all governmental priorities, ensuring that transparency, accountability, and collaboration shape the UAE’s governance.

The three-day event included over 40 sessions focusing on essential domains such as the economy, technology, cultural identity, and sustainability. Key initiatives announced during these meetings mirrored the UAE’s progressive agenda aimed at empowerment, innovation, and resilience.

One of the standout initiatives was the introduction of the “National Family Growth Agenda 2031,” which aims to bolster family values as fundamental to Emirati identity. Additionally, the “Emirati National Identity Strategy,” co-developed by the Ministry of Culture and the National Projects Office of the Presidential Court, was launched to strengthen cultural pride and societal unity.

In a significant move towards digital governance, the UAE introduced “Unified UAE Numbers,” a national AI-driven platform providing real-time data and statistics to bolster informed decision-making and prepare for future challenges.

An essential highlight of the meetings was the acknowledgment of the nation’s “Union Teams,” honoring their contributions to enhancing the UAE’s global reputation. Those honored included the UAE Mission to the UN in New York, the UAE Pavilion Team for Expo 2025 Osaka, and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center Team. The events also celebrated recipients of the UAE Order for Culture and Creativity and the UAE AI Award, recognizing excellence in innovation and culture.

The conclusion of the meetings also marked the launch of the “UAE Experts in Artificial Intelligence Programme” by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which aims to cultivate a new generation of national leaders in AI. Sheikh Mansour also led a session of the Ministerial Development Council to discuss forthcoming developmental objectives.

Exemplifying the UAE’s preparedness for the future, a large-scale national tabletop exercise conducted by the National Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) assessed inter-agency coordination in managing extreme weather events and cyber threats.

The meetings featured the Economic Data Retreat, aimed at fortifying the nation’s financial and digital frameworks, alongside the Water Acceleration Programme to gear up for the 2026 UN Water Conference scheduled to be hosted by the UAE.

In a pioneering endeavor, the UAE Government & Business Dialogue for Action brought together leaders from both the public and private sectors to align innovation with national objectives. The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure announced an AED 170 billion national package of transport and road projects slated for completion by 2030, enhancing connectivity and mobility throughout the country.

Furthering its digital transformation efforts, the government introduced the AI Readiness Index, a metric designed to assess federal entities’ readiness for AI-based operations.

The inaugural UAE International Press Conference, organized by the UAE Government Media Office, was also held during the meetings, inviting over 200 local and international media representatives to discuss the UAE’s development trajectory.

Since its launch in 2017, the UAE Government Annual Meetings have solidified their role as a pivotal national platform for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration. This year's edition reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to excellence, a journey rooted in unity, inspired by leadership, and propelled by the shared ambition to craft a prosperous future for the upcoming generations.
