In a recent assembly at the Ruler’s Office, the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) convened under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

The meeting was also attended by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the SEC.

During the session, the Council assessed crucial governmental policies and developmental initiatives aimed at enhancing public welfare and ensuring timely, effective service delivery through a cohesive governmental structure.

Review of Cybersecurity Achievements

Furthermore, the achievements of the Sharjah Cyber Security Centre (SCSC) were reviewed, which is diligently working to establish a robust cybersecurity framework throughout the emirate. The center's initiatives center on bolstering cybersecurity awareness, developing human resources, and fine-tuning the overall information security framework.

SCSC has executed several critical initiatives, which include incident management frameworks for cybersecurity, safeguards for operational technology, governance in information security, methodologies for risk management, and strategies for rapid response. Additionally, it has conducted vulnerability assessments, scrutinized government websites, embraced four developmental trajectories, and hosted over 20 technical workshops. Moreover, more than 175 government personnel have received training in cybersecurity competencies.

Sanctioning of Cybersecurity Strategy 2026–2031

The SEC has given its approval to the Sharjah Cybersecurity Strategy (2026–2031), envisioned to cultivate a resilient and secure digital landscape in the emirate. This strategy aims to enhance institutional cybersecurity maturity and embed security at the heart of governmental operations.

The Council commended the efforts of the Sharjah Cyber Security Centre, underscoring the necessity for cooperation among all governmental bodies to attain the objectives outlined in the new strategy and to adhere to international best practices.

Decisions Concerning Judicial Sciences Institute

Additionally, the Council made two key decisions related to the fees, fines, and rewards systems of the Sharjah Judicial Sciences Institute, which are designed to bolster the institute's capacity to deliver top-tier training and produce well-prepared professionals for the legal and judicial fields.
