Sharjah Accelerates AI Integration in Government Services

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), has mandated the swift integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in governmental operations.

This initiative aims to bolster government efficiency, augment public service quality, and foster the shift towards an AI-driven governance model in Sharjah.

The directive underscores Sharjah's steadfast commitment to a human-centric digital transformation agenda. It emphasizes leveraging advanced technologies to enhance government efficacy, provide superior services to citizens, nurture skilled talent, and reinforce the emirate's digital self-sufficiency.

His Highness has tasked the Sharjah Digital Department with spearheading the Sharjah AI Assistant Programme, collaborating with various governmental bodies throughout the emirate.

This programme is designed to establish essential systems and tools, outline key objectives, and assist governmental departments in swiftly integrating AI solutions into their daily activities.

Additionally, he emphasized the necessity for enhanced cooperation with private enterprises, academic institutions, and community stakeholders. This partnership is anticipated to spur innovation, ensure sustained progress, enhance national capabilities, and leverage specialized knowledge.

Through this undertaking, Sharjah seeks to expedite its digital transformation journey, creating a more effective, intelligent, and future-ready governmental framework.
