The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has formally launched its application process for the Academic Scholarship Programme for the 2026–2027 academic year. This initiative aims to nurture exceptional Emirati talent in specialized areas crucial to the advancement of transport and smart technology.

Targeting high-achieving Emirati high school graduates and current university students, the scholarship offers avenues in essential academic disciplines that align with Dubai’s progressive vision for an innovative, digital, and sustainable transport framework.

Since its inception in 2009, this program has been a key element of RTA’s initiative to create a robust pipeline of national expertise. It is committed to grooming students for prospective careers in cutting-edge industries and facilitating significant transformative projects in the transport sector.

As noted by RTA, the program resonates with Dubai’s broader objectives to empower young Emiratis and prepare them for pivotal leadership roles in digital evolution and future mobility innovations.

The scholarship encompasses a variety of specialized areas, including artificial intelligence, advanced data analytics, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, autonomous transport, roads engineering, smart traffic management, smart city development, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

RTA emphasizes its commitment to attracting and developing skilled individuals capable of providing insights, strategic planning, and innovation within the transport domain. The overarching goal is to enhance Dubai’s status as a global leader in smart, sustainable mobility solutions.
