In a significant move to enhance its media landscape, Sharjah has announced the establishment of 14 strategic partnerships aimed at boosting the emirate's film and creative industries. The agreements were signed on Wednesday, witnessed by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, at the Sharjah Media City headquarters.

These collaborations focus on the development of the film sector, promotion of creative content production, and the establishment of a well-rounded media ecosystem that aspires to position Sharjah as a global media hub.

Strengthening Media in Sharjah

During the signing ceremony, His Highness commended the spirit of collaboration among government sectors, emphasizing that collective efforts will enhance professional standards and support the growth of new media skills that align with international trends.

His Highness reiterated that these partnerships aim to deliver a cohesive media narrative for Sharjah, reflective of its cultural identity and developmental ambitions. Furthermore, such initiatives are designed to attract more investment and talent into the media sector.

The strategic agreements involve a diverse array of both governmental and private entities, including:

  • Sharjah Police

  • Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security

  • Sharjah International Airport Authority

  • Environment and Protected Areas Authority

  • Sharjah Digital Department

  • Sharjah Civil Defence Authority

  • BEEAH Group

  • Sharjah Municipality

  • Sharjah Archaeology Authority

  • Sharjah Museums Authority

  • Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq)

  • Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority

  • Air Arabia Group

  • Invest Bank

The involvement of these entities reflects a comprehensive approach by Sharjah, acknowledging that the growth of the media sector requires a multidisciplinary strategy.

  • Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of the Sharjah Digital Department

His Highness also received a comprehensive presentation on the SHAMS Studios facilities. The project will feature five studios, varying in size from 1,500 to 3,400 square meters, designed for extensive filming, commercial shoots, documentaries, and other high-end projects.

Additionally, specialized spaces will focus on:

  • Visual effects

  • Editing units

  • Sound design facilities

Such establishments are crucial for creating films, digital advertising campaigns, and streaming content that adhere to international quality benchmarks.
